Pilgrimage to St Piran’s Oratory, 10.30am - 1pm Pilgrimage to St Piran’s Oratory, 10.30am - 1pm on Sunday 8th March at Penhale Dunes, Perranporth

In honour of St Piran’s Day, we’re off on our annual pilgrimage to St Piran’s Oratory in the Penhale Dunes. Our pilgrimages are reflective walks in sacred spaces around Cornwall. There will be moments of silence and contemplation, as well as some prayers and songs we can voice together. This special pilgrimage will also include communion, led by Bishop David. There is no obligation to take communion unless you would like to. Bring suitable footwear for muddy paths, and warm/waterproof clothing. We’re encouraging people to bring flags, streamers and ribbons, brightly coloured clothes, musical instruments - anything to help the feeling of a joyful parade! We also invite you to bring a picnic lunch or a pasty to enjoy in the dunes once the pilgrimage is over.

TRANSPORT
As parking is limited, please share lifts where possible!

There are laybys all along the road beside the dunes for parking - find the Google maps link in our bio.

Please note, there are no public toilets/facilities at this location!

This week we enter the season of Lent, traditional This week we enter the season of Lent, traditionally a time of fasting in the lead-up to Easter.

This Lent, we invite our community to make small disruptions to the norms of ‘comfort-at-any-cost’. We’re challenging ourselves to fast (if not totally, then partly!) from screen time, from car travel, and from meat and animal products. Vegan recipes are linked in our bio!

(If you’re going fully offline for Lent, you may want to write these commitments down as a reminder in the weeks ahead…)

Go gently.
